The countryside - and folk music
Remote from the city (of Berlin)…
i was for 5 weeks now without much of an internet access. That caused me some side affected opinions about the recent worldwide renaissance of folk music.
1. poser folk much such as Devandra Banhart or Joanna Newsom remains artificial and enjoyable only to people in towns (not me).
2. a more original, soulful approach to folk music like Jandek’s fits the countryside better, but at last:
3. when you’re out there, then there’s no need to listen to anything at all.
A greed?
